THE EVOLUTION OF…ME
Do you ever stop and wonder ‘how did I get here”? Looking back I can now see that, as a business that exists to serve and support other businesses, I was a MESS throughout COVID. The stress and anxiety I had bubbling inside me was not healthy; worrying about my family’s security as well as the families of all the amazing entrepreneurs that we serve. On top of all that, the “change” started happening. Menopause is no joke and I have NEVER had hormones work me over like they are now; I would give birth 10 times over to give up this chaos. And well, a little piece of me snapped.
Now, that sounds a little ominous, but man-oh-man it was kind of the best thing. I have never felt more resolved and confident in growing and shifting my business. And why? Well, honestly, it’s likely the brazen attitude that I’ve seemed to develop with the hormone chaos ;) but also, that sheer desire to never feel like that again and put my health (mentally & physically) before all else. To stop playing safe. Stop thinking and planning, and start doing, and delivering.
So, it began. I have spent the last 6 months preparing my current business to be less reliant on me so I can evolve to what I want my business to be. I am fortunate to have wonderful team members that are working with our entrepreneurs. I’ve focused my time on creating processes, checklists, templates, and reports so that I can rely on them to do things the way I would do them…basically I’ve done my best to clone myself.
What will I do with my newfound “freedom”? That’s the exciting part – I’m starting up a new area of Clear Eyes that will help you establish and grow your business with intent, just like I am. Working with so many entrepreneurs, I hear time and again that the bigger they grow, the less “in control” they feel. The chaos and overwhelm of having to do (and remember) everything is a lot.
So many of us start as solopreneurs and as we grow, bring on contractors or staff to evolve into “entrepreneurs” but have you ever felt that they sometimes just don’t get it? I know I’ve often wished they could read my mind! The truth is that to grow, we need help, but putting together a job description and task list won’t always cut it. Dealing with the boring and dorky tasks of creating SOP’s, setting up systems, and establishing standards might seem like things only big companies do, but I’m here to tell you that it’s the key to growing with confidence…and without chaos.
Here we go – I hope you join me for the ride <3
